Are you using the term "robe" as in bathrobe, or dressing gown, or as in a dress coat? The exterior fabric and sash belt make it hard to tell the weightiness of it! (Like, is this an actual coat for warmth, or an indoor robe?) The offset buttons strike me as 20s. But, the casual "sash" tie belt makes it seem later. I don't think the buttons are original, as they look 40s to me, and this is either an earlier coat with some re-workings, or possibly homemade 1970s, with a removal of double-breasted position buttons. Is there a layer of insulation, between the lining and the exterior? It the exterior a velveteen - cotton velvet, or possible a velour? Honestly, these pictures gave me more questions to ask, but it's all fun detective work! Can you reach up inside and feel any padding in the shoulders? If possible, please take a picture of that, as well.

To me the fabric looks like the antique "plush" as they used to call it. It was usually silk for the pile and cotton or rayon for the backing. But it could be a rayon pile as well, made to imitate silk plush. I am still leaning to Edwardian late Victorian. It does appear to have alterations to it and replacement buttons.

No padding at shoulders, no in-between lining, if anything I would say velveteen. It does have a small puff shoulder as well with gathering at shoulders. After looking at a few hundred photos of antique plush I have to agree. It is a little rough but I think it has been exposed to the sun for awhile. The lining feels kind of like a cotton gauze though.
