Vintage shoes – date help ?

Here I go again... and thanks so much in advance for any help on these 2 pairs:

1) Suede heels – is this 70s doing 30s????
And do you know the maker? I've figured out that the second label ("popp & kretchmer") is a Vienna department store, but haven't been able to find something about the maker.

2) Salvatore Ferragamo boutique – 80s ? Something about the colours I seem to remember from my early youth... or?

Thanks!:hiya: Sille in Denmark

No idea about the second pair, but I would say the first pair is 70s - late 70s is my guess. They are gorgeous - very sexy! And I love T-bars.
I go to Vienna a lot but I admit, Popp & Kretschmer doesn't ring a bell, but I've googled them, and it's a fine ladies' fashion store on Kärntnerstrasse. Kärntnerstrasse is THE shopping street in Vienna, it's right in the middle of the main tourist attractions, and it has all the designer and famous names shops. I guess I never heard of this store because this is not the place in Vienna where I and my friend personally shop :bouncy:, as we go for the more original, and of course, vintage stuff.

Thanks, Karin – I sort of hoped you would weigh in – being both local & clever ;-)

And I know what you mean excatly – had the same experience with a formerly great department-store here, that I had never even heard og before researching :-)
No, give me the Red Cross charity shop anytime – I know every adress within a very large radius from here ;-)

I think they are both mid-late 70s (1976-78ish) but the name Italo Columbo is probably a made up name by an importer of Italian made shoes from a company that makes footwear to order by foreign buyers. The label Amalfi in the U.S. was like that. They ordered shoes from numerous small factories and they were all sold under the label Amalfi.

Thanks a lot, Jonathan – that's really interesting (and funny!) with the made up names!
And perhaps it solves the mystery of many an unknown shoe-manufacturer ;-)

Just thought that the VfG label resource might be interested in the ferragamo-label if we can date the shoes to being late 70s? There isn't any 70s label that looks quite like it in the label resource now...

Thanks everyone – and Karin: I will remember Caritas if I ever go to Austria/Vienna ;-)
myvintagewear: I know what you mean but I do think they are older, yhough – also judging from the lettering...
Anne: I like them too, but why are the nicest vintage shoes almost always so tiny... :violins:

Oh, sorry, Karin – just put you in the wrong country right there !
But then got another travel tip out of it ;-)
Thanks!
