Vintage shopping in Paris- is Las Puces the way to go?

Awhile back I remember seeing videos on some site where someone was perusing some amazing vintage clothing and hats somewhere in Paris. I cannot remember where I saw this.

I had a sense that it was some sort of very large vintage/flea market and I started looking it up.

Basically my question is, if we are interested in 20s-50s fashion, is Las Puces the best place to go or are there other very large vintage areas? Last time we were there we went to Le Marais but it was extremely disappointing as I think it’s much more trendy/of-the-moment vintage-focused, and there weren’t even that many shops.

Thoughts? Merci!!

BigBrother, it's a while since I've been in Paris so you're better off with more up to date information but from my experience, yes, Les Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen are an excellent source for quality vintage and antique clothing although the prices do reflect that, and bargains aren't as common as they are in most flea markets. More information at their website.

The other place I sought vintage at was at Didier Ludot's lovely shop.

I have a lovely book on vintage clothing shops in Paris but it's likely out of date, your best bet might be google and asking Parisians for recommendations when you get there.

Bon voyage! Paris je t'aime.
