Either I'm having a geriatric moment, need stronger glasses or I'm just not seeing the first letter of this vintage skirt label. One person thought it was Mildred, but it doesn't look like an M to me.

I found many 1950s ads for Mildred of California and they were all for junior, young miss, or "young fry" items. You can see that the "Little Couture" on your label underscores that pre-teen orientation.
