Vintage skirt label

Hi,

Either I'm having a geriatric moment, need stronger glasses or I'm just not seeing the first letter of this vintage skirt label. One person thought it was Mildred, but it doesn't look like an M to me.

I am kind of seeing an "M" there, albeit a most unusual one! Such a unique label, with that pinned zipper (?).

Can we possibly see the skirt too?

Nothing gets past you, J! Haven't used the old name since my Etsy store went bye bye... The skirt is cordoroy, has a side metal zipper - but a small waist (ugh)!

I see it now, the corduroy! My eyes are going crossed at this point, after all the Black Friday through Cyber Monday madness.
Kim, it is a darling skirt. I always love when horizontal stripes, are put to such effective use, as they are here.

That is a fun skirt and fun label.

I found many 1950s ads for Mildred of California and they were all for junior, young miss, or "young fry" items. You can see that the "Little Couture" on your label underscores that pre-teen orientation.
