these boots are some kind of canvas material with leather at the toes and on the heel. Marked inside the butter soft leather lining (I have it turned over for the picture) They zip up the sides but not all the way to the top.
thanks to ebay's wonderful new search, I have found none like these.
anyone know date? are these pretty common?

sorry for the pics, I used my phone.

OK again, sorry bad pics, good phone/bad pics
they really are in better shape than the pics show only a bit of water stain on the tip of the leather toe. I may be able to polish this off. But the fabric part is surprisingly clean.
To me the boots look late 60's-70's they have that go-go boot shape to the heels/toes

thanks Jonathan, you're a heel of a guy! I hope these kind of help
I WILL be getting a proper camera soon. I was hoping someone would just be all "that's the so-and-so boot"
here's the bottom

they are a good size 8 1/2 a tad roomy on me, but I ususally add insoles so I am torn between taking them to the flea market this weekend or keeping

That helps a lot. They are early. I wasn't sure until I could really see the heel and toe but now I am 99% sure. I believe they are from the same collection as that safari suit that was up last week that sold for big bucks. If the cotton is a safari coloured tan, then I believe they are the same collection which is 1969 or 1970?

I would like to handle the boots to be 100% sure, but if I am wrong, I am not wrong by much. The boots are not earlier but they could date as late as 1975, except that YSL wasn't doing this look in the mid 70s. The toe and heel combination is very forward edge for 1969/1970 but it's possible.

I think I have the hat to go with the boots. This was one of my first vintage buys. I was very ingnorant then.
Very cool boots......
