Hello Everyone!

I have 3 pairs of vintage VANS embroidered sneakers. They have been confirmed early 80's by a reliable source.

Could someone lead me to a dealer or site that has info on values of VANS shoes?

My appraiser could not help me in the value department.

Thanks!

Sorry we do not give valuations here.
Past Ebay sales are your best source. There are plenty of specialist retro/vintage trainer dealers on there so I'd look for one who has sold Vans before.
I doubt any auctioneer or appraiser would be able to help with these.

Those are cute Vans, and very So. Cal style.
I agree with 80s, dating, if memory serves. Vans were always kind of pricey within that casual shoe category, and they are, or used to be anyway, well made.
They do have their fans.

On Etsy, there are hundreds of vintage Vans listed, in a range of prices. I'd start looking through those.

VV, you've asked about appraisals before, and the answer here will be the same - an appraiser needs to hold the items in their h and, as condition is of vital importance, and seeing them in person will impart information that photos don't. Appraisers for specialised items like these, are hard to find - I would recommend a collector or expert, but you've found one of these and it seems they're unable to help you.

As Jonathan mentioned on the earlier thread, have a look at closed auctions on ebay, prices on etsy and see what you can find online that is similar. Keep in mind that it's more useful to see what things have actually sold for, rather than prices people are asking, because online selling prices for vintage tend to be quite diverse and not necessarily realistic. The bottom line is that "they're worth what someone will pay for them".

Like all vintage, shoes in particular, need to be in good condition.

Thank you for all the help. I DO understand that this forum is NOT for appraisal nor do I expect any offering of values. I simply asked if anyone could point me in the right direction. I really hope to not send the wrong impression to any members that I use this site as a "fishing" pool. I appreciate and value the information on this site way to much to break any rules or come off looking like a complete rear end.

With that being said, I have a physical appraiser that handles all my items and I would NEVER rely on an internet based appraisal.

I have recently discovered that these shoes are quite possibly late 60's-early 70's from the label. I have been searching Ebay and other sites for value leads.

Thank you again to all those who take the time to respond!

Emily

Not yet, but seems like a logical step. I never seem to have much luck when contacting retailers directly, but it is worth a shot.

Thanks!
