Vuokko Dress Added Trim?

I found this Vuokko dress at an antique store yesterday for only $25. I think the trim was added later because I haven’t been able to find any other examples of her work with trim online but I would like to get more opinions before I remove it. Also, I believe this dress is from the 1970s but help dating would be appreciated too!

Great find Joji. I agree that the trim doesn't seem right for her work, but would removing it leave telltale signs?
