Ruby is the stone (and color) of passion and power (ever notice how many politicians like red ties?), and it's also July's birthstone. Historically, it was worn to attract health, wisdom, and romance, and I believe it still holds that magic. I have a pair of ruby bead Art Deco earrings from the 1920s, one of my favorite pairs (and available – for now – for sale) that can be added to nearly any outfit for a punch of red and all it conjures. See these fabulous earrings, cleverly worn seven different ways here: http://www.trufauxjewels.com/blog/wearing-julys-birthstone-ruby/.
If 1950s jewelry is more your style, how about wearing one of these jewels with the same ensembles in my blog post?
