Barbra Streisand will be auctioning more than 400 personal items to benefit charity, Oct. 17 & 18. Among them will be a dress from "Funny Lady," a robe from "The Way We Were," several outfits from "Meet the Fockers," a Dior pantsuit she wore to the 1986 Grammys, and some pieces of furniture.

I love this quote from her:

"I'm a collector, so one collects and collects and collects," she said. "But now I have enough stuff and I want to concentrate on other things, so it's a good time to clean [the] closets."

Gee, her closets must look just like ours, only on a larger and grander scale....

Apparently she likes repeat performances! This was exactly what she said the last time she had a big clean-out -- three years ago? maybe four years ago? At that auction she dumped her famous sailor blouse outfit from her 1964 television appearance, the Cecil Beaton outfits she wore in On a Clear Day, and one outfit that she was photographed wearing while she was dating Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau (I bid on that outfit but it went too high). She also dumped a lot of Art Nouveau furniture in that auction.
