Wanted: A new \'tropical\' 1950\'s frock for me!
Preferably like the Shaheen Ang sold (I borrowed your pic Ang!):
We are going to a Caribbean night on April 12 at our sailing club and you have to wear something "caribbean" (Jake is going as Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean!) but living in rainy Leicestershire, it's hardly tropical weather here so I don't have anything vintage and sunny for me to wear. I ALWAYS wear vintage to the club's events so it's kind of expected of me to wear something vintage!!!
It doesn't have to be a Shaheen like Ang's (LOL, although I wouldn't mind one) but I do have a budget of around $125ish although cheaper is better as we have the car tax and MOT due this month! I don't mind pit stains, some damage or needing some repair as long as it's strong enough to wear. If you have anything but it's a bit more expensive but you think will fit the bill, let me know anyways as I can always flog something on Ebay.
You guys know my style, full skirts so I can wear a crinoline, princess seams or shelf bust. I need a tropically looking fabric too.
OK, I've gained a bit of weight over the month from porking out on chocolate but for simiplicity's sake my "normal" measurements are (as I'll loose the weight or corset myself silly):
Bust 38", rib 32", waist 30" (but waist can go smaller to 27"/28"with my 50's waist cincher), hips 38", height 5'9".
Does anyone have anything for moi?
Lei
