Washing pleated nylon

I found a nice nylon slip this weekend, with pleating from bust to hem.
Do I need to make any special considerations when hand washing? The pleats won't wash out, will they?

I hand washed a nylon negligee this week with pleating on the shelf bust and it came out beautifully; so I think you're safe.

I have never had a problem washing pleated nylon **knock on wood**

I've even washed it in the washing machine before.

You should be OK. The pleats are heat set and permanent on nylon lingerie as a rule.

Great! I'll throw this in the wash bucket tomorrow, she's one dusty unmentionable, lovely, but dusty.

Yep, it should be just fine. I recently washed a full length nightgown that is pleated from bust to toe, and it came out beautifully.

Glad to hear nylon pleats hold up--I impatiently washed a knife pleated red and white print circle skirt in what I assumed was poly over the summer (it had so many "tea" stains I knew dry cleaning wouldn't work...), and it will never be its crisp, perky self again (unless I figure how to get very talented with an iron...)

Maybe it was rayon?

Nylon lingerie that doesn't have lots of lace or dohickeys, I wash in the machine in a Martha stewart -delicate- wash bag.

They have always turned out great. Anything to reduce handwashing time I'm all for.

wash it - just not in my machine! its cursed.

I gave her a hand bath along with some of her dusty fuzzy sweater friends. All have survived.
That pleating must be done with something like hair permanents!


Also, it's neat how quick things dry when you hang them by a warm radiator!
