Washing vintage lace dress

Hi all I have this fabulous vintage pink lace dress by Peterson Maid which think is from the 60's, I think it might have been as sample as there is only a hand written label with 'lace 100% nylon, lining 100% acetate' under the makers label, do you think I would be ok to hand wash this as has quite a few spots on. There is also some boning in the top. Thanks

Pretty dress. I would hesitate to hand wash it because the 2 kinds of fabric may respond differently although each fabric is washable if they were alone. For example, the lining could puff out and no longer match the lace outer dress in size. My suggestion is to try spot cleaning the spots with Folex or dry clean the dress.

I agree: dry clean only. If you have a good dry cleaner, they might have success with the spots, depending on what they were caused by and how long they had been there.

Thanks all, thought this might be the case, will get the spot cleaner out! yes wasn't sure about the date as the lace feels much stiffer than other pieces from the 80's but I bow to your knowledge :)
