Weathering the storm with vintage trench coats!

Summer hasn't quite reached Manchester yet. We're used to the rain here which is a good job since there's lots of showers forecast for this coming week.

I've got a couple of vintage trench coats in my own collection - I do love a stylish trench! They're still big news on all the catwalks this year and these classic coats never seem to go out of fashion. I found a fab selection of trench coats in The Daily Telegraph Magazine dated March 1975. Hope you like them too. I think the styles have stood the test of time and are still very wearable today. These images are 35 years old. I especially love the Biba.

:excited: Just the thread! It's been rainy, cold and generally ugly here all week!

I love the third coat, by Wallis! Love the shape, because it is so wide.

I have just one raincoat, but one that I love dearly. Like many things, it's vintage (70s is my guess), and I bought it not because I needed a raincoat, but because it was so cute and I thought, well, a raincoat might come in handy some time.
It certainly has - I bought it during my three months in Montreal, and as it was spring, it came in very handy in the end :hysterical:. It's NOS, from a shop called "La belle Renée" on Ave. Mont-Royal (maybe some of you have heard of it, I know there are a few members from Montreal here :D ). The label is Canadian, Nicolette by Niccolini, and it's a kind of junior size. I guess it was thought to be for a teenager, but that makes for a nice fit for me as I'm small up top... So it has a nice, fitted look with an accentuated waist, and the length is really nice too - it gives good cover!

I love the detailing on the top part, and what's better than bright red for a dreary, rainy day :D .
