This wedding dress belongs to a friend and she has asked for my opinion of its age. Unfortunately I only have these three photos to go by and the quality isn't great. It is hand made & has a centre back metal zip closure. I think the long white ribbon with flower trim & a bow hanging from the waist may be a belt? My friend thinks it was made between 1949-1951 but looks mid to late 1950s to me with that flower trim around the neck but I could be way out!
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.

I agree with Sadie about the ribbons being a design element - I see two on the skirt front, and there may be more around the sides and back.

It looks late 50s - early 60s to me. The flower trim, and the style of lace looks very 60s. I don't think those ribbons are meant to be belted - they are sewn to hang straight down. That looks more like a styling choice!

Thanks - that's my thought date-wise too. I can see what you mean about the ribbons now - I had only noticed one to start with.
