Wedding Gown Dating

Hello! I am new here. Yesterday i posted a Christian Dior dress and today i have a wedding dress i bought a few months ago from a thrift shop. I really loved it since it was a lot more different than i usually see in my thrift stores. The dress is in very good condition, except missing some beads at the armpit area. It also has 2 tiny loops (which at first i only noticed one) on the back, possibly to hold the train? I don't know anything about vintage clothing but i am becoming more and more passionate about them. Is it possible this is vintage? It has no labels. Material looks like silk taffeta to me, but again, i do not know much. I am skeptical this is vintage, but i would love to see what you guys think.
I would greatly appreciate your input on this gown.
Thank you!

Beautiful! I looks to be made of a shantung weave, likely silk shantung. It would have had a train as you say. Once the train was attached it looks like it would be what is often referred to as a mermaid style or a column style (depending on the width of the train). This mermaid style became popular fro brides in the late 80s and early 90's, to my recollection.

Thank you Barbara! I was thinking early 90's as well. It is very beautifully made, simple yet elegant. I was surprised by the open front, which is pretty risque for a wedding gown in my opinion.
I appreciate your input!

It's lovely, and I, too, am in the early 90s' camp on this. In fact, I almost bought a dress very, very similar to this in 1991 when planning my wedding, but opted for a different style. The neckline, bodice, and sleeves were almost identical to your dress!

Same idea on dating - early 90s. It's gorgeous - this is the kind of wedding dress I like. I've recently acquired a lot of early to mid-90s wedding dress patterns, there's a few long slim dresses there, and one with an additional train (though it attaches differently). Also the neckline and the short slightly puffy sleeves are something that shows up frequently.
