What are these hooks for??????

  1. 50's Black Satin Strapless Bustier

    What the heck are these elastic loops and hooks at the rear for?? I know we discussed this some time ago, but can't remember what we came up with.

    Aren't they for suspenders (garters) but have lost the clips and elastic???
     
  3. Wouldn't they be in the front AND back though???? These are back only.

    They are called girdle hooks and would have attached onto eyes sewn onto the girdle or corset to stop the bra from riding up when bending over thereby creating a gap and a fat roll :)

    Lei...thank you! I also could not figure out what they were for! Now, if I can ever find a vintage longline bra, I'll know what I have!

    Know I know how to explain them, I have several LL bras with these hooks front and back and I did not think they would be for garters because the bra would sit to far up for that.
