What ARE these? Lederhosen?

haha ok I know they aren't lederhosen really. But I still don't have the foggiest how to describe these or a clue on era. I received several pairs in a mixed vintage lot. NOS, no tags, made of wool. Are they short dungarees? shorts with braces? LEDERHOSEN? :P

lederhosen would not be a correct keyword for these. neither are dungarees.

cuffed shorts with suspenders, from the 80s. reminds me of an old photo of Demi Moore...

Those are (that is?) so sweet, but as they are not "leder" (leather), they are not lederhosen.

Cuffed short with suspenders, I'd go with that too. I had cuffed shorts made from a woolen plaid fabric, and the main color was a bright pink. I wore them in winter, with black suspenders and black opaque hose underneath, ca. 1993 or 94. I seem to remember that that was quite the thing then...
