What are these?

I snatched these up at a tag sale, thinking they were vintage garters. When I looked at them more closely at home I see they are not garters at all, but some kind of silk covered clip. THEN I noticed the sweet box actually has little baby heads on it and the word “Baby” here and there. Something to hold baby blankets in place? They are four inches long.

That's exactly what they are, for cribs and carriages.
How nice that you have the box and I think they are 1940s.

So sweet. Yes they are to hold a blanket. I have seen the decorated celluloid ones, but not any covered in fabric.

I bet they were a shower gift and too pretty to use

Those are too adorable! I can see someone using these today as a way to clip together antique love letters, sheet music, etc. They would make a charming display piece.
