What do you call this?

What is the correct term to call the cut of this dress? I know it is a drop waist, but is there a proper name for the way the bodice slides into the skirt of the dress? (it is one piece)

what do you call this try...

hi there,
i am new all to this. only logged on for the first time today. i would call it high hip yoke line detail. it is indeed an odd design. did see a bit of this type of design in the early 80's when studying fashion.
the stand up detail could be described as 'a stand fluted ruffle trim on the hip yolk line... does this help. am based in sydney and have lots of pieces and lots of reference books to chase up proper names for various trims and details. are you a dealer as i have some interesting pieces that you might be interested in

Hi, all! My first post! Finally creeping out of lurkdom and hope to start posting regularly.

Sydney, I've seen that treatment called a cuffed drop waist. I guess you could call this one a double-cuffed drop waist.

Oh MC I am thrilled that I was worth you coming out of lurking for to answer! :hiya: that made my day!! I will do some adjusting on my description of my listing, thank you and welcome.
