GREETINGS!

Help please...I'm translating a fashion text -- "paletot" in French -- those little hip length, trapeze line, usually 3/4 sleeve jackets from the 50s/60 (?) that are a trend now...anyone know what they're called in our native tongue (besides "cute")

Thanks, Melissa

WOW!! Sarasattc -- what a wonderful resource -- thank you -- and um Vintage Peddlar, would your personal sense of satisfaction be an appropriate prize??? WHILE I have your attention...it's NOT a peacoat, right? (dispute with fellow translator). A peacoat is one of those box shaped toggle closing hooded affairs that Paddington Bear wears, n'est-ce pas? Back to the text, Melissa

Here's a peacoat...no hood though.

OKAY!!

Whatever Paddington wears I have an instinctive aversion to it...but not to these forums...I LOVE THESE FORUMS...you are my personal heros...

Admiringly from France, Melissa

p.s. the guy wearing the peacoat in the surplus clothing ad is NOT human -- he is a scary ken doll android being, and now I'm afraid to go to sleep!!!!
