What do you see when you look at this dress?

And then he said I believe your problems are related to unresolved issues with your mother.... This reminds me of looking a INK BLOTS!

What time frame do you think with that wrap front, well it does not actually wrap it is sewn that way.

It has a back metal zipper and the belt snaps in the front...um or maybe it should be the back...but anyway it has a bow on it.

I believe it is silk, fully lined and the seams are unfinished, but they are pinked.

So any ideas?

Oh that is so pretty Queenie. I would say 50's. It looks like houndstooth at first from the long shot but then up close is is sketchier-like abstract houndstooth if that makes sense.
I sent you a scan via email.

Is this one of those psychologist's tests?

I'm surprised Marie didn't see this, but it looks like a squirrell to me, looking back over his shoulder, from behind.

..where's that bag over head icon?...

I would say same as Marie...from farther away it looks like houndstooth

I have a "sewn wrap front" dress from the 50s...i would say probably late mid on mine.

The print though looks more arty to me so that is what is throwing me off on date - i think its later but don't know exactly when

Actaully when I looked at it my first thought was little black poodles!!!

No wonder they do the ink blot test...see how different people see things differntly on first glance!

I think its supposed to be a large houndstooth amorphous plaid. It looks early 60s to me because of skirt length, wide belt and oversized print.

Wow, yes, it does look like a giant houndstooth design. ...though I thought it looked like a flock of witches flying on broomsticks.. obviously haven't recovered from Halloween yet.

Not so sure on it being 60s. The belt is very 60s... but the shoulder shape on the arms of dress would surely be very old-fashioned in the 60s, there would be darts at the chest area to bring it all in neatly, and the skirt line would be sharper? ...very confused actually. But the belt is classic 60s. ...maybe I'm stuck in a British and Italian fashion mindset though. Where was it made?

love, moons and starrs,
Senti.*
