Hello Vintage Fashion Guild Forum!

I need your help in identifying the correct era for these adorable shoes.

They are from Russell & Bromley.

Open-toe sling-backs. Tan leather band over the vamp. On the inside/back of the heel straps, there is a small, elastic band. Featured on the outer side of each shoe a cut-out of fur - with 'spots' added and in the shape of a leopard. The heels appear to be wood.

Inside sole reads: "Russell & Bromley". "NEW BOND STREET LONDON". "MADE IN ITALY". The size is identified as "36 1/2".

Your wise tutelage is greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

Can we see heel. The logo looks older 50's but the design is so 80's. But seeing the bottoms may help.

Nice shoes

Hello Chris:

Thanks so much!

Russell and Bromley are a chain of English shoe stores, like Aldo or Chandler. They have shoes made up for them with their label in the sock, but they aren't actually manufacturers or designers. The heel on these have straight sides which is more 70s and the wide open toe also looks 70s to me but I would need to see a profile shot of the stacked leather (not wood) heel to be sure - I would expect a far more tapered heel or slanted neck or breast of the heel if it were 80s. Also a more almond shaped toe - that toe is VERY round for the 80s, more typical of the mid 70s.
