What era is the dress from?

This dress has been hiding in the back of my closet for years and I found it tonight. It's so cute on! After looking it over I was thinking it was from the 1930's or very early 1940's. The skirt is ankle length and it does have s metal side zipper. No label but I think it's possibly handmade. What do you guys think?

I'm curious about the mesh lining as I have a late 30s wedding dress with this inside the bodice too. Hence the bump!
