What era is this bag from?

Do you have any more pics Lara? I'm getting a late '60s feel but if you have and labels, or construction details it would help. Are they plastic beads with a synthetic fringe?

Thanks for the reply, The beads are plastic and the fringe is cotton. I have attached a larger image for you let me know what you think

Late 1960s, it's very bohemian/folkloric and in the late 60s a lot of folk and ethnic fashions were popular in ready to wear fashions.

Hi,

I used to see these bags sold at street fairs, county fairs, rodeos, etc, and given away as prizes at carnivals, boardwalks, etc up through the 1990's (although they do have that 60's hippie look). They are made of inexpensive synthetics, with glued on plastic beads and nylon fringes. Hope I do not come off as snotty, but honestly, I do not see it has much of value as vintage item. Am I wrong?

I remember my mum having a black handbag with the SAME beading and design as this in the late 70's when I was a kid. I always liked it as I would try and pick the beads off, especially the long pointed ones- they fascinated me. I don't know where she got it from, I just remember it always being around.

My mum's bag wasn't round though, it was square and had a long shoulder strap but it had the same beads and same pattern. I remember her using it into the 80's too. It's like having a flashback looking at yours!

I'm with Lei on this. I had little bags like this in the 70's as a child. Looks like a synthetic fringe and plastic beads. It's cute and takes me right back. I had little coin purses like this too. :)
