It's a summer weekend, so most folks who usually wander by these parts are strolling along the beach, getting kids ready to start thinking about school, or are sitting in an air conditioned mall.

I wonder, in everyone's travels...is it too hot in most places to even think straight or is there something vintage related that you have been searching for lately, no matter how your personal constitution is compromised by heat and other distractions?

Who knows, someone might have what you are looking for, or may just want to commiserate.

Chris

Chris, no matter what the weather, antique corsets are the thing I always search for!
Actually, it hasn't been too hot where I am-more cold and rainy than anything else!!
Went to an antiques fair yesterday (it was nice and breezy) and I missed out on an unusual early 1920's girls' corset with pleated elastic panels on the bust by literally ONE SECOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A fellow corset collector that I know snapped it up just as I was getting to the stall. It was only £9 too and the seller even reduced the price to £8 even though he didn't ask for a price reduction!! ACK!!
Ooooooooooo, it ate at me the rest of the day!

I hate it when something like that happens, Lei!

Honestly, I'm looking for so many things that I keep a small notebook that contains my list with me.:BAGUSE:

But I guess the big one for me right now are bathing suits and beach accessories up to the 60s. I found a great rubber swimming cap -early 60s - last week.

 Lei, that would really eat at me too...i would be thinking to myself...what if i didn't stop to tie my shoe, what if i had walked just a little faster, etc.... but you will have your day and buy something out from under that other collector.

Always looking for day dresses, sweaters, circle skirts, dressy dresses, poofy prom stuff (up to 65 or so) and Bakelite/Celluloid, spike heels, purses....

I have a Lucite piece in my future, I can feel it in my bones.

It's the thrill of the hunt, isn't it!?

I'm always looking for 1940's suits or just the jacket by itself, 1930s-40s lingerie, 40s-50s coats, especially vicuna(I have 4 now)men's vintage ties, vintage 30s-50s scarves. As if I have room for any more. lol Thank goodness my husband is understanding.
