What I saw in the window of Kerry Taylor Auctions this morning...

Pearly King and Queen outfits! These are from the 1940s.

I regularly walk past Kerry Taylor on my way to work, and often have to pause and gaze at wonderful outfits, but these really brought a smile to my face!

Glad you like them! I was at a local community event the other day, and a small troupe of 'pearlies' turned up, a King, a Queen, and very pretty Pearly Princess.

I've always loved these. What great examples.
That's why I collect pearl buttons! Not that I'd have the patience, but it makes me think of them.

They are estimated to go between £400-600. The lot includes the two suits, man's cap, tie, bow-tie, brace, chemisette, two ladies hats, a handbag and shoes
