What influence do I have here?

This jacket is from the 40s, and is very cool. I'm getting ready to offer it in my mall store, but I need opinions on the cultural influences present:

I expected to find a made in Mexico label, but instead found this one:

Thanks!

That was my first thought too.
Maybe a north/central mexican/aztec native influence. My second guess was guatamalan/mayan ish

Hey...I have something 70s from Post Time too.
Ever find out anything about them..I have not.

Definitely equestrian! I would say Lizzie's jacket is western - reminded me of Nez Perce (sp?) - the native Americans that bred the appaloosa horse. The stripey wool reminds me of a western saddle blanket.

Ironic - "post time" reminds me of thoroughbred racing, but that horse on the label looks like a pony or donkey, or a smaller breed of horse (such as the appaloosa - they usually have really pathetic manes and tails).

Lizzie, I also see South American - and the words (which I will have to
google because I can't think of the exact connection at the moment) "pampas" and "Argentina" come to mind. I may be waaaaaay
off base here.

I love this! And I remember the "Post Time" label, though haven't seen one in ages & ages.... I'd also go with a Central or South American culture influence. The bird symbol is, I believe, used in several of the ancient cultures such as Maya, Aztec, etc., and that stylized version on the jacket could probably represent any of them, I think...

Well, thanks, all! It really is a snappy jacket. At first I thought it was 70s, as it was the type of thing I was wearing circa 1974-5, but then I tried it on an swa the strong shoulderline. No pads, but they were there and have been removed.

Lizzie, i wasn't implying that i thought yours was 70s...mine is though I am surprised that this name has been around so long then and there is no info about it!

My husband (part NA Indian, and an avid reader of Indian myth) looked at the jacket and thought it may have west-coast Indian influences as well as central-american/Mayan.
I came across a link about Mayan culture and it mentioned that red, blue, green and yellow were their main colors and also turquoise, but that turquoise was reserved for royalty. Unfortunately, I forgot to save the link. Certainly, the "steps" in the jacket seem to lead up to the "God" and is reminiscent of the Mayan temples.
There's my two cents. Good luck with the sale!
