What is an NR # and why do I care?

I bought a beautiful vintage slip and it has an NR number on the tag. This probably tells me something about the garment but what??? Where do I find this information???

I had the link Kara, however I can't find it in my favorites. The NR # can
give you info on the company....although I personally have never had much luck using the site. Hopefully someone that is more of a whiz will
be able to help you (and me)
