Hi. I have been purse shopping after losing everything in a fire. I came across this purse but I want to know if it's actually leather. For the price, I don't think so. Anyone know brand/real leather? The only thing on the purse is a tag inside (SL3797). Sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance.

How does it smell? Leather has a distinct smell.
The lining of this purse is the type of lining generally done with synthetic materials. But, touching and smelling, seeing the backside of the hide - that is how to tell leather.
The tag number probably has something to do with the warehouse it was manufactured in, which would then relate to a company, or many companies, who use that manufacture facility. But, I don't know who that would be. I would recommend comparing the bag to something that you know for certain is leather.

Thanks for your reply. It smells, feels and has weight like leather. After looking at it more carefully, I'm 98% certain it's leather.
