What is the best appraisal site?

Hey,

My local appraiser sometimes has a hard time giving me accurate appraisals for items with which she is unfamiliar.

In your opinion, what is the most accurate and affordable online appraisal site for vintage clothing?

I do not know who I can trust......

There is no online appraisal site that I have ever heard of, and I wouldn't trust anyone who says they can offer an appraisal online, at least not an accurate appraisal. Any good appraiser will insist on handling items for a proper appraisal, otherwise its just a guess loosely based on similar items seen in the marketplace. I suggest looking for similar items at auction and online sites and see what they SELL for, not what they LISTED for, because those are often vastly different figures.
 
If you are unable to find an appraiser locally, I recommend finding an online appraiser that specializes in textiles. I vaguely remember one credible site that appraised just textiles.
