This is a 20-year-old Christian Lacroix scarf, and I'm stumped on what to call its design. The vertical stripes are formed by loose threads - a warp with no weft - with thin vertical stripes that act as anchors to hold the horizontal threads in place. The horizontal threads combine into thicker vertical stripes, which have gaps throughout. I feel like I've seen this before on lightweight statement vests and cardigans, but I cannot think of how to describe it! The words "moiré" and "lattice" come to mind, but they're not quite right. Any ideas?
