What is this? Robe, Jacket, womens smoking jacket?

I picked this up because I just loved it, brought it home and put it on and now I am wondering what it is. Please excuse my pics, the robe/jacket is dirty and needs a bath so the pics are just quick and, well, dirty.

Is it a robe or a jacket? It is a soft yellow on the outside that is embroidered with silk embroidery and on the inside it is pink and it has two front pockets. It closes with one snap and has a label: Original Paulette

I would say that it's the top to a pj pajama outfit.

These usually had rayon satin pants with them often in black.
Maybe this one had a mauve pant.

I would put it around the early 50s...Lounge Wear they used to call these for lounging in of course!

Ah.. lounge wear. I was wondering how one would sleep in this. It is dirty so you can't tell but when I put it on the bottom part poofs out pretty big.
