What is this Tina Leser garment?

This item is just gorgeous, but what exactly is it? The skirt zips, and the bodice buttons. My thinking is that it is a hostess gown, but it is pretty elaborate.

Front - fabric is embroidered.

It back of the skirt has almost a bustle effect. Not quite a train, but a lot of fullness.

Any ideas?

Wow...is that all embroidered?

If it buttoned all the way down, I would say that it would look great
with the skirt opened up and tight aqua slacks worn underneath.

I'm guessing that it is a hostess gown, but not for any soiree that
was serving chips & dip!

Lizzie, I'm wondering if this would be mall shop material?

Tina Lesser was known for incorporating ethnic designs & techniques in to her work, wasn't she? If so this [gown] would certainly be representative of that aspect.

I have no idea of what it is, other than an amazing piece of craftsmanship. Funny, the skirt says ballgown, the bodice says... Little Home on the Prairie?!

There, that was very helpful, wasn't it?! (sorry!)

:)
