Is there a specific name for this type of "half hat"? It's made of straw and has a stiff net "veil". What is the age?

I think it's a variation of a juliet cap, it would look very different sat on curled hair.

Hi,

I would call it a calot, specifically a halo brimmed calot. Although it does resemble a Juliet cap as well, so that works too. It should sit well back on the head, with the halo brim sticking up more vertical than you show it. Of course, it would look better on a 1950s hair do!
