Hello! So I recently acquired a few vintage Dior pieces, but one them has me puzzled. It's got the Dior label, as well as ILGWU tags. It's deep blue Qiana fabric, style 62213. It has button closures at the top and the neck, with a dagger collar. It also has pockets. I'm assuming it's circa late 60s/70s. But I cant figure out if its a dress, nightgown or caftan. I can't seem to find the same style anywhere either. Any help would really be appreciated!

Love the collar! I would say based off the pictures that maybe it's an over coat for a matching hostess dress, or even a dressing gown type piece. 1964-1973 based on the union label.

My initial reaction is a lounging gown. Especially so because of the embroidered Dior name on the cuff, I don't think that would have been put there if it were an evening coat.

This is a licensed Dior piece made in US.

  5. The Christian Dior label has very crooked sewing, I've never seen such a bad job made of it, even from Dior's department store stuff.
The RN number, 14522, comes back as EYE-FUL LINGERIE INC.

Quiana nylon was introduced to the garment industry in 1968 and was very popular in the '70s.

"Made in the USA" was was mandatory on union-made garments from 1985 onwards.

It's worth noting that, for lingerie, the color of the union label is not an indicator of age. They were often solid blue or black or simply the color of the company's logo.
