My mom sent me a picture of this asking me if I knew what it is...and I haven't a clue! She said it's made of nylon. Any ideas?

A pin curl or roller cap. It would tie on top of the head.

In the 1910's and 1920's, these would have been made of silk, trimmed in lace or ribbons, and were referred to as a bandeau. Worn for sleeping to keep the hair from getting mussed, and just to look pretty around the house. Not quite a cap due to the shape. The 1920's styles tied in the back of the neck or back of the head, not in front though.
