What Skin is this Leather Purse Imitating?

It's kinda bubbly so it doesn't look like snake to me. Anyone have any idea?

Defintely reptilian, can you tell if it's embossed leather?? Magnifying glass or loupe helps, check around the "scales". Frog would be rather rare, and a HUGE creature at that, from the looks of the bag!:wow22: Lovely clutch, tho!!

There's a tag that says it's leather so it's not frog or anything! lol

Maybe it's just a design and not actually imitating any real reptile?
 
Tags that say 'leather' just mean that it's some kind of hide and not vinyl or plastic. It could be any hide. To me it looks like a type of crackle treatment that's created in the finishing process, perhaps with varnish. I've seen bags sort of like this though I don't know exactly how they do it. But not ruling out mutant frog.

Hmmm, that makes sense about the leather marking just meaning that it's an actual hide - not just conventional cow.

Looking closely at it, I can definitely determine it's not actual scales so I think mutant frog can be ruled out. :damnit: - lol

I think your idea about a crackle sort treatment might just be it. The tag reads furia made in Italy genuine leather. I think it's probably late 70's/80's.
