What the Vice-President\'s lady wore....

I was reading on the internet today and several bloggers bashed Jill Biden for gasp! wearing a coat and dress that were above her knees and dared to wear them with boots of all things at her age (57). Here's a picture of Mrs. Biden:

I don't know about anyone else but I think she looks great. If I had a figure like hers I'd definitely wear what she wore.
 
I love both outfits! I had seen the gown in photos yesterday, but had only read about the coat & boots. I personally think the boots were not only very stylish, but very practical given the weather. Michelle Obama's legs must've been freezing, but I bet Jill's were comfy.

Hey, when you look like that, I don't care what age you are--you can wear what she did, and to hell with the detractors!
 
Unless the dress under the coat was waayy shorter (can't see the length in this pic), I think it's very age appropriate and chic. Maybe a little too fashion forward for D.C.
 
It's time DC got a little fashion forward. Did anyone see what Mrs McCain was wearing? It looked like a beautiful royal blue suit.

I loved what Mrs (Dr) Biden was wearing. She looked like a million dollars no matter how old she is. I didn't look that good when I was 20.

I think it's wonderful when the wives look great and, quite honestly, I think it's worth whatever it cost. They are the most visible women in America and ready-to-wear is still an important Am. industry. Every time they are photographed they advertise Am. fashions.

I don't always like their choices but if they look good and it promotes fashion it's a win for everyone--even home sewing because the pattern companies will adapt their designs and hire their designers.

It's particularly helpful that both are attractive and have nice figures. Claire
