what to call these vintage shoes

Hello VFG!

What would you call these shoes? Are they mens or womens? Is there a special name for the fringy thingy? Thanks for any help you can provide!!

They could possibly be golf shoes. This may not be correct but we used to call the "fringe part" a kilt. Hope this helps.

At first look, I thought they were Golf Shoes. I always thought that fringe thing was for golf shoes.

Could be called Two-Tone Loafers.

Thanks Marge...the pair in the middle are my style...so at least I know they are for girls/women and they are 50's...I will try calling them Oxfords with kilt!

yes, I too thought golf shoes, but it doesn't have any of the metal pieces to put spikes into.

Those are great shoes---umm, what size are they? Definitely golfwear inspired, a big fad at one time. Without the kiltie, they also look like bowling shoes--almost identical to my bowling shoes from the late '60s! Somehow they don't seem as early as the 50s to me; I think solidly 60s, but, of course, I could be wrong....
