What type of fur is this wrap?

Hi I am completely ignorant about fur so would be grateful for help identifying it. I only have this wrap as it was part of a lot I purchased with a 1930s cape.

Sometimes these have an inner pocket in the lining and a label can be in there.
Are there any fasteners?

Hi there, Pretty wrap. It looks like Dyed Squirrel. Can you please show a photo of the back of the fur and describe what the texture feels like to you for further confirmation?

Mary Jane, it does indeed have two small pockets to the outer edges of the lining. I'm assuming in place of fastenings, you are meant to use these to wrap it around yourself? Sadly no label.

Caryn, sorry to be dense but what do you mean by the back of the fur? It is completely lined. It feels silky. It looks quite dense close up.

I've taken a close-up photo outside in bright sunlight. It looks red but that is a distortion by my phone, true colours are closer to the photo in my original post.

Hi Jasmin, Sorry about that. I just meant the fur on your display form as you displayed it for the front view and side view but showing the view from the back. Sometimes I can see more definition of the fur and pelts from the back view. The close up and your description of how it feels works for me though to further confirm. It is indeed dyed squirrel fur.
