Lambada is a dance - perhaps that's all it refers to?
ETA: I remember it being all the rage in the late 80s/90s
A few - wildly different things - came up in my initial search so I wasn't sure, but if it was that popular - why not? That was the era I was thinking of, from the strap pattern.

P.S. it's a poor show when even my father knows the Lambada was a dance (and he was certainly not clubbing at this time!)

I don't know but I REALLY love that watch - are you listing?
For sure! I'm currently turning the house upside down to find the sheet of batteries at the moment (It has the old one in so I'm pretty sure it died of natural causes) but while I sort that out feel free to make me an offer by PM

Thank you all for a new insight! Searching through all the vintage pop swatches has made me yearn for one of my own - some of the designs are so fun.

It must tie in with the Lambada craze! God, my cousin and I loved this - all our Barbie dolls were dancing the Lambada when we played with them a the time! Do you realize this song was in part sampled in JLo's "On the floor"? I recognised it instantly... Pop Swatches were the thing to have at the time - absolutely... unfortunately I don't have mine anymore...
