What would you call the style of the skirt on this dress?

Hi there,

Ok, while there's not anything necessarily that stands out on this dress, I just like that fact that the back of it has some extra fabric that sort of hangs past the rest of this dress - any info?

What's it called? And what year is it?

Is it the same piece as the skirt, but gathered or is it a seperate piece like a train (but obviously shorter)?

Its a cute little back dress. very classy.

I have a dress with a skirt like that, and it looks like pockets (where you can slide your arm all the way through)

I've got that on a c.1950 evening dress - kind of an extremely streamlined fabric panel bustle?

Except you need something snappier than that

That's it!!! Like a train but shorter!!!!!!!
1950s, is it the same way? With it in the back?
Thanks noir!!

Yep in the back.....

It looks like a new take on a bustle, to me. Instead of being poofy, the fabric just hangs.

It also reminds me of a watteau train, though a watteau technically comes from the shoulders.
