What\'s Your Era?
Instead of "What's your sign?" vinties ask, "What's your era?" on meeting new people!
So, what's your era/eras? What do you like to collect and/or wear for yourself, and what do you like to buy for resale?
Personally, my favorite eras for my own personal wear or use are the 50s & 60s. Unfortunately, I've lost the hourglass figure I had when I wore a lot of 50's fashions, but am working hard to get it back! And since I grew up primarily in the 60s, I love the mod look and the late 60's hippie styles. Though I don't wear the latter too much anymore--not the best look for a 50+ year old....
For resale, the 50s & 60s rule again, although I have a ton of 70's things in stock that I have to get listed. And I've been buying up 40's dresses, since they seem to sell well. I have some earlier pieces, but since I'm not all that knowledgeable about the earlier eras, I sort of ignore them. Sigh.... I'll get around to them eventually; I just don't think that'll ever be my niche.
I also sell a lot of lingerie, and have quite a lot from the 30s through the 50s for resale. I also love wearing vintage lingerie from the 50s through the 70s. So pretty and well made!
