Where are my curtains from?

These aren't for sale. I have 8 panels and they are lined in WOOL! Wooo! They will keep us nice and toasty this winter. I'm no expert in antique fabric though and I was wondering if anyone could help me narrow down a date or location. I thought the deer looked like Red Deer which they don't have over here but I am totally clueless. There are no maker marks on the selvage yep I've looked hard. The fabric feels really good and the printing technique is much more inconsistent than I've ever seen on a print. Like in some part the evil squirrel rat and the other animals have dark solid eyes and then other parts there is less dye so the eyes are smaller. Or like on the lion where it is a reverse print some faces have more ink and smaller eyes. Any help is much appreciated. I read a great article on wiki about printing processes and I am sure thats the case with the differences in the animals on here. The dye is consistent its the process that differs

i am no help, but wanted to say how gorgeous the colors are and that print with all berries and all the critters is so cool! and wool lined?!!! wow, that is so great!!!

has Marie seen your squirrels yet? :paranoid:

I don't know if these are the type of squirrels Marie collects. Hers always seem cute LOL I'm just itching to know more about this print though. Is there a name for these old red and white prints? I know they are really old.
And squall they won't be for sale until after winter. They aren't my style and don't go with anything in my house but they fit and are super warm. They are so thick they completely block the light. It gets so cold here I'd be a fool to sell them before spring. Spring ends in June here :) They came from a local estate that just had the most amazing textiles and trims. I'm not sure where the family originally came from but they were more wealthy than most of the settlers around here and I've found the neatest stuff. I'm on a listing spree so I'll take some pictures of the wool and polished cotton backs later today. I also meant to post a picture of the carp and pineapples.
 
They seem a little bit "Arts and Crafts" in style, such as those designed by William Morris - which in turn was inspired heavily by Medieval arts:

Also inspired by similar sources, I have to mention the first thing that came to my mind when looking at your delightful print were the illustrations of Pauline Baynes - particularly those she did for the Chronicles of Narnia. There are even wonderful lions on your print! :)

Wow! Thanks for all that information. I was perfectly ok with them just being red curtains until someone came over and couldn't figure out where they had seen the print before I think they may be older than the other things in the estate after looking at these links. Wyoming isn't one of the older states so I NEVER find things pre 1890. I wonder if I should hang them at all?
 
oh, yes! ringing an arts and crafts bell here...maybe Carrie will pop in, she's a bit of an arts and crafts era maven!!

also, the strong tones of red and ivory lend a bit of a toile feeling to them, although the horizontal striping of the print rather than an overall print is so different!

A cotton fabric with designs of country settings, animals, people or other objects usually printed in one color on a solid background color.

if you ARE planning on selling them (eventually) i would be hesitant in using them myself. fwiw.
