Where/when would one wear this?

Ok, maybe an odd question,
but I have this gown with leopard-meets-paisley print:

I just can't imagine where/when one would wear this type of outfit?
To a party? Vacationing? Or just watching telly?

It has a David Brown, California label, two side pockets, and a long hidden zipper in front:

Hmmmm well if I recall correctly, David Brown is kind of a loungewear label - so I'd guess that it was intended for "around the home" wear.
What's the fabric like?

You may do very well with this (and agreed it's 70's loungewear)....

Apparently there is quite a following somewhere for David Brown's stuff. I had an 80's long evening dress of his that I thought I'd be lucky to sell at all, put it on eBay, got way more bids than I thought I would, and it sold for way more than I thought it was worth. I've seen other of his things go high as well. It surprises me in some cases, but somebody somewhere collects the name!
