While we\'re talking purses....

I picked this one up the other day. I'm guessing 50's -- sound right to y'all?

Plan on listing it tonight... so I'm open to suggestions!

THat looks right to me date wise, but I am not a purse person... The shape looks right. Funny, as I have an owl purse too, I wonder if it was a popular motif in the late 1950s - as my bag might be from then too. I dated it as early 1960s simply because it was bigger, but mine could also be 1950s.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jonathan!
This one is actually pretty large. Without the handles & flaps that hold the clasp.. it's 11" tall & 11" wide at the top. Around 7.5" at the bottom & 3" deep.

I agree.. .could be as late as early 60's, although I think I'll use 50's as that's a safe bet, too.

What I find neat about this one is that the owl is made up of thousands of tiny beads and real feathers and is VERY 3-D. It didn't occur to me until just now, as the job is really professional looking, but the owl might have been added later or as a kit. The former estate owner had a whole craft ROOM with lots of beads & other crafty things.
