Hi everyone,

I’ve recently got into vintage fashion and there’s one brand i'm absolutely in love with. ‘Angela Gore’.
I now own three of her dresses , but can find no information if this was a real person, if they had a store, anything!
I would greatly appreciate any help :)

Thank you! Yes i did look the brand up on Liz’s website i just wish there was more info on the designer .. i think i found that she was called Angela Boys through the company’s gov info. Interesting!

A 1972 article about Gore noted her Angela Gore name "is a derivative of Angela Boys and her erst-while Scottish partner Daphne Gore" The article further adds that she is "a one-woman band and Angela Boys presides, designs, chooses fabrics, and interviews buyers." Angela Boys, they add, is doing extremely well, in spite of having no orthodox training and that she learned dressmaking at school in Switzerland. They continue: "Miss Boys began her dressmaking career making peignoirs for Wollands," but since the demand for those were limited she began making evening dresses.

In addition to her dressmaking, Angela Boys bred dogs, as a 1973 article noted about her: "...forty-three-year-old Miss Boys is a dress designer by trade, but has been breeding Hungarian Vizsla pointing dogs for four years."
