I found this poncho a while back and havelooked until I am crosseyed, but I still cant find anything relating to Metz Mostrup. I am not sure if this was a scarf someone sewed into a ponco or if it started out as a poncho. I suspect that it was once a scarf. It had to have been a huge one as my island is 4ft square and it overhangs that by several inches on each side.

If you recognize this item or designer, could you point me in the right direction so I can research?

thanks in advance!

Hmm... I think, Metz Mostrup is correct. I did a search for Metz Mostrup Paris on Google.fr and came up with one hit:

http://patrimoine.jalougallery.com/lofficiel-de-la-mode-numero_792-page_90-detailp-13-811-90.html
It's a magazine archive, an issue of L'Officiel de la Mode from 1994. There's a lot of typos though in the text below. Apparently the dark blue handbag is by Metz Mostrup.

I can just make out on the label that it says it is 100% silk (100% soie) in the middle, and below it says that this needs dry-cleaning (Nettoyage à sec), but I can't read what it says on the other line... maybe that would lend some clue? Does it say anything on the back of the care label?

Thanks everyone!

the tag say s Made In France, 100% silk and Dry Clean. One one side it is in english, the other is in french.

I also suspected that it was sewn into this garment by a consumer. The stitching for it just isnt as good as the stitching of the hems.

When I did the google search, it came up with a magazine ad, but I never could open the page up enough to be able to actually read it.

I agree it is fabulous! Can anyone speculate on a decade it was made?
