Who is Sherman of London?

Hello, I'm new here :)

I've just acquired a vintage 1970s dress with the label "Sherman of London". I've done a quick internet search and the Sherman in question is possibly Samuel Sherman of Dollyrockers fame. Can anyone corroborate this or give me further information about the label?
