Who's the model on this November 1949 Bazaar cover?

Things I know: Louise Dahl-Wolfe took the photo, and the gloves/tulle cap/ostrich fan are all by John Frederics (a common misconception seems to be that the feathers are part of the hat; 'tain't so!)

Thing I'd like to know: Who's the model? Is this Dovima or Dorian Leigh? Someone else????
 
It looks a bit like Dovima, but the face in the mirror looks softer, like someone else. I would love to know too.

I adore that photo, having seen it a few times over the years but have never been able to get a copy of that magazine. I once had a lady send it to me (the photo) and ask me if I had "that feather hat". She was very disappointed to learn it was not a feather hat at all, but a fan held to the model's head!

As I am one of the world's biggest feather addicts, I love love love that photo!

I am not much help, but had to comment on this fabulous image, and thank you for showing it.
 
I'm glad to know you're stumped too, Barbara! (Well, not glad, but...you know what I mean!)

I had great fun thumbing through this issue on my lazy day yesterday, and didn't realize that I was missing the first few pages till I got curious about the cover (and couldn't find any fine print about it, or even a table of contents for the issue!) So I googled like the dickens and found an image of the missing table of contents page, which noted the cover photographer and what the model is wearing--but doesn't ID the model herself.
 
Thanks for the info Rita! This must have been one of her earliest covers, since according to IMDB her modelling heyday was 50s/60s. What a wild and crazy life she's led!

BTW, the feathers are not part of the hat, but a fan she's holding to her head.

Wait, I have to be wrong given the date and you know, Ivy's bday is unknown - smart girl ;) Here's a profile of her - do you think it's the same nose? I only looked quickly but the earliest photos I found of her were from 1951. Read she started modelling at 16 for big mags.

Looks like we have a mystery to solve!

This profile does look similar to the mirror reflection though, no?
